Full Job Description

Job Overview

Assist the director with financial and administrative duties including but not limited to preparing and maintaining fiscal records, purchase orders, financial reports, day care billing and correspondence, assisting in the preparation of the annual Federal Grant proposal for the child and adult care program (CACFP) submittal and uphold position in the chain of command and performs related duties as required.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain financial statements and reports in accordance with accounting principles for federal, state, and tribal funding. Prepare monthly spreadsheets for Director, Staff, Policy Council and Governing Body.
Prepare budgets and establish grant accounts. Supervise activities pertaining to budget formulation and execution of the federal, state, and tribal funding.
Prepare detailed financial reports, interpret financial statements, and communicate insights to executive leadership for informed decision-making.
Conduct risk analysis and implement risk management strategies to safeguard organizational assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
Develop financial projection models using data analytics tools to support strategic planning and long-term growth initiatives.
Collaborate with program managers to monitor budgets, control costs, and optimize resource utilization across departments.

Experience

Proven experience in financial management within a non-profit or governmental setting, preferably in early childhood education or social services sectors.
Extensive knowledge of industry-specific financial regulations including GAAP, IFRS, ASC 606 revenue standards, and public accounting practices.
Demonstrated ability in corporate finance, cost management, profit & loss analysis, and financial statement preparation.
Strong background in risk analysis, compliance management, budget development, forecasting, and strategic planning.
Proficiency with data analytics tools, Excel data analysis techniques, and financial software platforms used for fiscal reporting and operations management.
Leadership experience managing finance teams or directing finance functions with a focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
Excellent communication skills for preparing comprehensive financial reports and interpreting complex financial concepts for diverse audiences.
