Studio Assistant Manager - Job Description
Reports to: Studio Owner / General Manager
Type of Position: Part-time / Hourly (hours will be indicated in a schedule)
Type of Location: On site (270 Lincoln Center, Stockton, CA 95207)
Starting Salary: $24/hr plus tips (actual starting wage will depend on experience and skill sets)

About Us:
Color Me Mine Stockton is a paint your own pottery studio that is part of an international brand and franchise system, but is independently owned by Pear Ridge Holdings Inc. (a wife/husband-owned company in San Joaquin County). We sell unpainted pottery, and provide paints and other materials for customers to create unique pieces. We glaze and fire these pieces in our kilns, and customers return 7 days later to retrieve them. We host birthday parties, corporate/group events, youth summer workshops, art and pottery classes and other types of parties! We are a woman, minority and veteran owned business with a goal of contributing to the welfare and betterment of our community through fun and creative pursuits.
Background:
Provides operational leadership for all studio operations and Studio Team Members during an assigned shift. Sets a professional example to all employees, customers, and the community. Performs (and trains Studio Team Members to perform) discrete and tactical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and running of the operations at the studio and territory level. Upholds standards, processes, procedures and culture. Represents and promotes the Color Me Mine Brand with pride, professionalism, excellent customer service and thorough performance of operational tasks.
Duties & Responsibilities:
● Provides leadership and oversight of all studio operations (on-site and for off-site events), including supervision and management of front room staff, kiln operations and back of house tasks during assigned shift. Sets the example for all Studio Team Members
● Demonstrates excellent customer service with the 3Ps: polite, professional, and pays attention
● Responsible for all employee training and certification; maintains Color Me Mine product, pricing and painting technique knowledge to impart to Studio Team Members on shift
● Responsible for Opening and Closing
● Assists Studio Owner/General Manager with inventory count and re-ordering (as needed)
● Enforces studio rules and policies (to fellow employees and to customers)
● Sets a professional example
● Demonstrates a willingness to learn something new and always works to improve skills
● Embrace the “team” mentality of doing what it takes to get the job done
● Escalates all concerns to Studio Owner/General Manager as needed.
● Ad-hoc requests as needed
Qualifications:
● Honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces (in the pay-grade of E-5 or higher)
● Has at least 5 years of leadership or people management experience
● Provide mentorship to junior employees (as this may be their first job)
● Ability to work in a fast paced and high volume environment with emphasis on strong customer service skills
● Must adhere to, promote and enforce all Color Me Mine Stockton/Pear Ridge Holdings Inc. philosophies, policies and procedures
● Must represent Color Me Mine in a friendly and professional manner on the phone and in person
● Ability to remain calm, composed and professional during challenging or stressful situations (especially with customers)
● Must be reliable and dedicated with strong interpersonal skills and work ethic
● Must have strong and well-developed written and verbal communication skills
● Adaptable to software and technology adopted by Color Me Mine
● Machinery or heavy equipment experience preferred but not required (but willing to learn)
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
The Assistant Studio Manager position requires the ability to stand for hours, walk, bend, squat, reach above shoulder, lift boxes or inventory items up to 50 pounds.
Direct Reports:
This position directly manages all Studio Team Members on an assigned shift (you will likely manage a different set of team members each shift), and sets the example/provides mentorship for all Studio Team Members.
Additional Employment Requirements (prior to start date):
● Completion of all required onboarding documentation (including Form I-9 for verification of your authorization to work in the United States)
● Satisfactory completion of all background and reference checks. Color Me Mine Stockton may obtain additional background checks from time-to-time during your employment, as necessary.
Pay: $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 35.0 per week
