CNC Machine Operator / Trainee - Aerospace Manufacturing
Job Summary:
The position is an entry-level position operating CNC machines under supervision to produce aerospace components. Lean fundamental machining processes while maintaining quality and safety standards in a precision manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC machines following established procedures.
- Load/unload parts and perform basic machine setups under guidance.
- Monitor machine operations and report any issues immediately.
- Perform routine tool changes and machine maintenance.
- Use basic measuring tools (calipers, micrometers) for part inspection.
- Maintain accurate production counts.
- Keep work area clean and organized.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE
- Complete training modules and certifications as assigned.
- Assist senior machinists with material handling and setup tasks.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or trade school in machining preferred.
- Previous manufacturing experience
- Basic math skills (algebra, geometry, trigonometry)
- Familiarity with AS9100, NADCAP, or similar aerospace quality systems.
Skills & Competencies:
- Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Ability to read rulers and basic measuring instruments
- Good vision and manual dexterity
- Basic blueprint reading knowledge
- Strong attention to detail, quality, and safety.
Working Conditions:
- Manufacturing shop environment; may require lifting (up to 50 lbs), standing for extended periods, and wearing PPE.
- May involve overtime, weekend, or shift work depending on production demands.
- Exposure to cutting fluids and metal chips.
