Job Overview

Join our culinary team as a Prep Cook/Server, where your passion for food and dedication to excellence makes all the difference! In this supported role, you’ll be a crucial part of our kitchen, preparing fresh ingredients, executing recipes, and ensuring every dish meets high standards of quality and safety. Your enthusiasm for culinary arts will help create memorable dining experiences for our residents while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a unique food industry setting.

Responsibilities

Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, ovens, fryers, and food processors
Follow food safety protocols and handle all ingredients with proper hygiene practices
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen surfaces to ensure a sanitary environment
Assist with meal preparation
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate food production and meet service deadlines
Support inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying supervisors of stock needs

Skills

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a related culinary role within restaurants or food service environments
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling techniques
Excellent knife skills with proficiency in slicing, dicing, chopping, and other cutting techniques
Ability to follow recipes accurately and adhere to portion control guidelines
Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Experience in menu planning and meal assembly in a fast-paced setting
Effective communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with kitchen team members
Knowledge of dietary requirements and experience working in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is a plus
Experience is desirable for supporting large-scale meal prep
Demonstrated commitment to cleanliness, safety standards, and food industry best practices
