About the Role
As an Operating Room Registered Nurse, you'll provide specialized perioperative care before, during, and after surgical procedures. You'll prepare patients for surgery, maintain sterile environments, assist with surgical procedures, monitor patient safety, and support recovery efforts in collaboration with multidisciplinary surgical teams.
This position requires strong critical thinking, exceptional attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to perform confidently in fast-paced surgical environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care throughout the surgical experience
- Assess and prepare patients for surgical procedures
- Serve as a circulating nurse and/or scrub nurse during surgeries
- Maintain a sterile field and ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols
- Monitor patient status and advocate for patient safety throughout procedures
- Assist surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams during operations
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered
- Manage surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies
- Document patient care accurately and maintain regulatory compliance
- Support postoperative recovery and patient education initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Operating Room nursing experience
- Experience in circulating and/or scrubbing preferred
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile technique, and perioperative practices
- Ability to thrive in high-volume, fast-paced surgical settings
