Job Description

We are seeking a financial professional to add to our growing accounting team. Candidate will be responsible for preparing the payroll and recording financial accounts and records for various clients while being supported by the Accounting Manager. Individual will also assist with general office administration tasks including answering phones and scheduling meetings as necessary.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Full-service payroll processing and preparation using various platforms
Review accounting records for accuracy
Full cycle A/P and A/R functions including bill and invoice verification, entry and payment postings
Documenting transaction details
Calculate interest charges
Record financial transactions
Tracking payroll data
Implementation of financial controls/processes
Notify senior staff of any accounting errors
Prepare monthly reconciliation of all trial balance accounts and prepare necessary journal entries
Prepare monthly financial statements
Communication with clients and third party accounting firms
Other duties as necessary

Ideal candidate will have:

Proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop and Online) and Microsoft Suite
General Ledger Experience
Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices
Strong spreadsheet skills
3 – 4 years of proven experience as bookkeeper or similar role
Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
Excellent attention to detail and time management with strong interpersonal skills
