Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

-Consistent timeliness and dependability. Must be able to reliably show up on time Monday through Friday, sometimes Saturday.

-Ability to understand and execute directions without fear of asking questions

-Must be a competent and effective communicator to clients and team members

-Desire to learn and grow within the role he/she serves in the company

-Valid Ohio Driver’s License that is not currently suspended or revoked and a reliable means of transportation to commute to and from RLC's base of operations in Spring Valley, OH.

-Availability to work Saturdays when scheduling and weather conditions require it. The company does not work on Sundays.

Not required but we would love to see it!

-Experience with string trimmers, and how to edge lawn lines

-Experience with backpack leaf blowers, and how to clear clippings, dirt and debris from paved surfaces and manicured flower beds

-Experience with various commercial grass cutting equipment (i.e. Walk-Behind Commercial Mowers, Zero-Turn Mowers, and Various Small Engine Equipment)

-Experience driving commercial sized trucks and landscape/utility trailers

-Degree(s) in Landscape Horticulture/Landscape Design, Turf Management OR Commercially Equivalent Experience

Benefits

- $18.00 to $22.00 with Monthly to Bi-Monthly pay raise incentives based upon reliability and performance

- 1.5x Overtime 40+ hrs/week

Working Conditions:

60% of weekly business conducted is related to or involves grass cutting services. This position starts as a utility position. String trimming edges and missed spots/obstacles; operating "handlebar" mowers for small and/or enclosed spaces; blowing off clippings, dirt and debris from paved surfaces and manicured flower beds. Also, blowing, raking and gathering up leaves and cleanup debris; loading, transporting or spreading mulch etc.

Lessons and opportunities for larger role on crew and/or using larger grass cutting/landscape maintenance equipment will come as reliability in attendance and attention to detail and instructions are proven on a daily and weekly basis throughout our 9 months season.

Individual must be comfortable working outdoors with exposure to environmental conditions such as heat/humidity, freezing temperatures, rain and snow, various plants and grass, insects, etc. Individual must be able to perform his/her duties while being exposed to dust, pollen, and lawn care/horticulture chemicals. The individual will be required to operate a motor vehicle to and from job sites. The schedule is full time, at least eight hours per day, five days per week with extended workdays and weekends depending on seasonal demand and climate conditions.
