Full Job Description

Smitty & Pearl’s is seeking experienced line cooks to join the culinary team at our new multi-concept hospitality property in downtown High Point beside Truist Point.

We have already hired many talented members of our opening team, and the remaining culinary positions are filling quickly. If you have experience in a fine-dining, upscale full-service, hotel, resort or chef-driven kitchen, we would like to meet you.

ABOUT SMITTY & PEARL’S

Smitty & Pearl’s brings together three distinct hospitality concepts:

Umbo — Elevated dining with a focus on quality ingredients, precision and genuine hospitality
Siren — An upscale lounge featuring craft cocktails and a refined food program
Jungle Bar & Arcade — A high-energy sports, gaming and entertainment venue

THE POSITION

Our line cooks will work alongside an experienced culinary leadership team to execute recipes consistently, maintain organized stations and deliver food that meets our standards for quality, presentation and timing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare and execute menu items according to established recipes and plating standards
Set up and maintain a clean, organized and fully stocked station
Demonstrate proper knife skills and cooking techniques
Manage multiple orders accurately during high-volume service
Follow food-safety, sanitation, labeling and temperature-control procedures
Communicate clearly with chefs, expeditors and other kitchen team members
Monitor product quality, freshness, portions and waste
Assist with daily prep, station breakdown and kitchen cleaning
Maintain composure, urgency and attention to detail throughout service

QUALIFICATIONS

Previous professional line-cook experience required
Fine-dining, upscale full-service, hotel, resort or chef-driven restaurant experience strongly preferred
Culinary-school education is not required, but it is a plus
Strong understanding of kitchen organization and mise en place
Ability to follow recipes, specifications and plating instructions consistently
Dependable attendance and reliable transportation
Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required
Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift up to 50 pounds
Commitment to teamwork, accountability and professional kitchen standards
