Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Industrial Painter to join our production team in Troutman, NC. This position is responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing a variety of small and large components using industrial paints and coatings.
The ideal candidate has experience with industrial painting, paint spraying, surface preparation, sanding, filling, and basic body work. Previous automotive body and paint experience is also highly valued.
This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in their craftsmanship, works efficiently, and consistently produces a high-quality finished product.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare components and surfaces for painting, including cleaning, filling, sanding, and basic body work.
- Apply industrial paints and coatings to a variety of small and large parts and different material surfaces.
- Operate and maintain appropriate painting, hand, and power tools.
- Properly mix, measure, and prepare paints and related materials.
- Use tape measures and other measuring tools accurately.
- Inspect surfaces and finished components to ensure high-quality craftsmanship and consistent finishes.
- Identify imperfections and perform necessary preparation or touch-up work.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe painting and work area.
- Properly use required personal protective equipment and follow all company safety procedures.
- Wear a respirator and other required safety equipment while performing applicable job duties.
- Manage time effectively to complete assigned work and meet production requirements.
- Coordinate work and communicate effectively with other departments.
- Work independently while contributing as a reliable member of the production team.
- Read blueprints and perform basic layout work when required.
- Safely lift and move materials and components weighing up to 75 pounds.
Qualifications
- 1+ year of industrial painting experience preferred.
- 1+ year of paint spraying experience preferred.
- Previous auto body preparation and painting experience is a plus.
- Experience painting both small and large components across different material types.
- Ability to perform basic body work and surface preparation, including filling and sanding components before painting.
- Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and tape measures.
- Familiarity with industrial paints, coatings, and liquid measurements.
- Ability to accurately measure and mix painting materials.
- Blueprint reading and layout experience is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
- Good time-management and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to safely wear required PPE, including a respirator, subject to applicable safety and medical-clearance requirements.
- Reliable transportation to the Troutman, NC work location.
