From this vantage point, our team has developed proprietary ASC ownership models that give both physicians and hospitals what they need to ensure long-term clinical and financial success.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary responsibilities of the role include all aspects of processing, decontamination through

set assembly, and sterilization and/or high-level disinfection. Dependent on the clinical setting

preparation of surgical case carts and materials management may be expectations of the role.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Separate and prepare contaminated instrumentation for cleaning.
Prepare, install, assemble, clean, and sterilize/disinfect operating room or procedure room
equipment and instrumentation and medical devices.
Decontaminate, process, sterilize/disinfect, and distribute medical supplies.
Inspect and perform functional checks on instrumentation/equipment to assure proper
functioning prior to set/tray assembly.
Process, wrap, and label all equipment and instrumentation for sterilization using appropriate
wraps and containers.
Perform proper documentation as it relates to the sterilization/HLD process.
Perform all duties relating to daily maintenance for all types of sterilizers/re-processors.
Communicate departmental equipment and supply needs to appropriate supervisor.
Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED:

High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of Sterile Processing education from an accredited school or training program
Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Board of Sterile
Processing and Distribution (CSPDT).
BLS certification (as required by individual ASC policy)

PREFERRED:

Experience in a sterile processing department
Ambulatory Surgery Center experience
