Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Operations – Skilled Nursing to lead the operational performance and growth of multiple skilled nursing and long-term care facilities. This executive-level position will oversee facility operations, financial performance, regulatory compliance, census growth, staffing, quality initiatives, and leadership development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in skilled nursing operations and a proven ability to lead multiple facilities, develop high-performing leadership teams, and drive measurable improvements in operational and financial performance.

Duties

Provide strategic leadership and oversight for multiple skilled nursing and long-term care facilities.
Lead, mentor, and hold facility Administrators and senior leadership teams accountable for performance.
Oversee daily operations while ensuring compliance with CMS, state, and federal regulations.
Develop and implement strategies to improve census, occupancy, referrals, revenue, and overall facility performance.
Monitor budgets, labor costs, overtime, agency utilization, and other key financial metrics.
Lead performance improvement initiatives by analyzing operational and clinical data and implementing action plans.
Partner with the CNO and clinical leadership to support quality care, staffing, survey readiness, and positive resident outcomes.
Identify operational challenges and develop solutions to improve efficiency, profitability, and resident satisfaction.
Support recruitment, retention, leadership development, and succession planning across the organization.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with physicians, hospitals, referral partners, vendors, and community organizations.
Participate in strategic growth initiatives, acquisitions, and integration of new facilities.
Provide regular operational and financial updates to executive leadership and ownership.

Experience

Proven senior leadership experience within skilled nursing, long-term care, or post-acute healthcare operations.
Demonstrated experience overseeing multiple facilities or a regional healthcare portfolio.
Strong understanding of SNF operations, financial management, census development, staffing, and performance management.
Experience leading and developing facility Administrators and senior leadership teams.
Strong knowledge of CMS, state, and federal regulatory requirements and survey readiness.
Demonstrated success with performance improvement, quality assurance, operational efficiency, and cost control.
Strong financial and analytical skills, including experience with budgets, labor management, and key performance indicators.
Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
Strategic and results-driven leader capable of managing multiple priorities and driving organizational change.
Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) license preferred, but not required depending on experience.
