Retail Job Title: Cashier- Enterprise Bargain Center

Department: Bargain Centers

Reports To: Store Manager

Employment Status: Full Time

Job Summary:
This position helps receive payments for items purchased in the Bargain Centers (Enterprise, Elba, and Geneva). These Bargain Centers provide the primary funding for the Christian Mission as it seeks to meet the mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of all people to whom it ministers. Provides customer service and assists customer with purchases in the Bargain Center.
Job Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and Experience: Must have a valid Alabama driver’s license or valid photo identification card and be insurable by the CMC’s insurance carrier if driving is an essential function of the position. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Follow established procedures on Electronic Check Conversion/Credit Cards and Gift cards.
Achieve at least 5 sales per day.
Keying accuracy - Properly ringing department/price according to audit records.
Security - Use safety color, use dedicated till, and keep log in credentials private.
Genuine greeting - Greet your customers as they enter the store.
5 Foot Rule - Acknowledge all customers within 5 feet of you.
Compliment at point of sale.
Invite customer back at conclusion of transaction.
Keep register area well stocked, clean, and free of clutter.
Store recovery - Practice a close to open strategy.
Assist in keeping the Bargain Center clean daily
Keep records of furniture purchased in the Bargain Center that will be scheduled to be picked up later by the customer
Coordinate with Donation Center when donations to the Bargain Center reception area is overloaded
Assist in the end of day drawer reconciliation process by counting cash out of assigned register for the day and then transferring it over to the Manager on Duty.
Some travel may be necessary for training & temporary duty.
Other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or other Mission management
