Full Job Description

Summary

QPO Energy is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Specialist to support purchasing, supplier coordination, inventory planning, and material availability for our manufacturing operations.

This position will work closely with the Procurement Manager and cross-functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Warehouse, and Finance to ensure materials, components, equipment, and services are sourced and delivered on time, at appropriate cost and quality levels.

Responsibilities

Prepare, issue, and track purchase orders in accordance with company purchasing policies and procedures.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate purchasing activities to support production, engineering, R&D, and general business requirements.
Work with internal stakeholders to understand purchasing requirements, priorities, specifications, and required delivery dates.
Identify and evaluate suppliers based on pricing, quality, capability, reliability, lead time, and prior performance.
Request and evaluate supplier quotations and support price and commercial term negotiations.
Maintain supplier relationships and follow up on open orders, delivery schedules, shortages, and other supply issues.
Maintain accurate purchasing records, pricing history, supplier information, and related procurement documentation.
Support inventory forecasting and material planning to maintain appropriate inventory levels while minimizing shortages and excess inventory.
Coordinate incoming material and logistics activities with suppliers, warehouse personnel, and other internal teams.
Purchase facility supplies, consumables, equipment, and R&D materials and ensure purchases are allocated to the appropriate department or budget.
Identify opportunities for cost savings, lead-time reduction, supplier consolidation, and procurement process improvement.
Assist with supplier performance monitoring and resolution of delivery, pricing, documentation, or quality-related issues.
Perform other procurement and supply-chain-related duties as assigned.

Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, Operations, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
Min. 2 years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Experience working with ERP, MRP, inventory, or purchasing systems.
Strong Microsoft Excel and general Microsoft Office skills.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to develop productive working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Experience with supplier quotation analysis and negotiation is preferred.
