Overview of the Position:

The Program Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Medical Assisting program and the science classes taken by SAHP, SNU and remainder of the university. The Program Director provides leadership, management and guidance to the faculty and staff; evaluates objectives; addresses risks; formulates strategies and policies; manages human, financial, and physical resources; and maintains an academic environment conducive to learning and growth. Working closely with leadership, the Medical Assisting Program Director implements planned growth to promote the financial health of the program to align with the School and University strategic goals.

Core Responsibilities:

1. Enrollment and Outcomes

· Oversee the day-to-day operations of Medical Assisting program and the sciences

· Guide course scheduling in accordance with the University guidelines.

· Function as the Subject Matter Expert/Leader in the development, assessment, and revision of curricula, program outcomes, syllabi, and student learning outcomes in collaboration with faculty and SAHP administration.

· Oversee the development and revisions of student handbooks and practicum guidelines.

· Lead committee in the SAHP

· Hold faculty meetings and compile meeting minutes

· Provide leadership and vision for the development and implementation of a strategic plan for the Medical Assisting program

· Develop partnerships and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

· Serve as a liaison among the faculty and students of the Program and the School of Allied Health administration

· Collaborate with the Clinical Professors to ensure an active, robust program practical

component

2. Administrative Responsibilities

· Ensure adequate funding and physical facilities of the Program, including equipment, supplies, and space.

· Submit documentation to ensure operational and current equipment and supplies, as needed.

· Collaborate with program faculty to develop an annual budget.

· Oversee the expenditure of funds allocated to the programs.

· Provide leadership to students, staff, and faculty.

· Oversee the hiring, retention and evaluation of program faculty.

· Maintain student engagement and overall satisfaction

· Facilitate adherence among students, staff, and faculty of the School and University’s guidelines and standards.

· Model the values and goals of the School of Allied Health Profession and of Monroe University.

· Participate in due process required for faculty, staff, and students as described in university policies or procedures.

· Work with the dean, faculty and staff to resolve student issues and complaints in compliance with University policies and procedures.

· Maintain compliance with program regulatory and accreditation standards

· Oversee systematic review of program effectiveness among didactic, laboratory, and clinical components.

· Guide accreditation, program review and evaluation, or assessment activities in collaboration with the School of Allied Health administration.

· Evaluate the curriculum, in collaboration with the faculty to maintain a current quality-driven academic program.

· Monitor performance indicators to evaluate program success.

· Perform other duties as assigned. and Scholarly integrity

3. Faculty Responsibilities

· Teach 2 courses each semester and provide classroom instruction consistent with the mission of the University, and School of Allied Health

· Attend faculty meetings, professional development programs, administrative meetings, and extra-curricular events and programs as required

· Work closely with academic advisors to proactively monitor and mentor students, providing academic advisement and support that results in persistence to graduation in accordance with the School of Allied Health

· Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications: DO NOT APPLY IF YOU ARE NOT A CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT

· Degree appropriate to the teaching discipline and assigned courses

· Certified Medical Assistant and other appropriate certifications, licensures, and other credentials, as required by the University and Department

· Teaching experience and demonstrated positive outcomes at the college level

· Have medical or allied health education/training, alongside documented education in instructional methodology

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
