The Opportunity
Technology Solutions is looking for a motivated, client-focused IT Support Technician to join our Tucson team.
For nearly two decades, Technology Solutions has provided managed IT services and technology support to businesses throughout Arizona and New Mexico. We work closely with our clients as an extension of their teams, helping them solve day-to-day technology problems, maintain reliable systems, improve security, and plan for future technology needs.
This is not a high-volume call center position where technicians follow scripts and rush users off the phone. Our technicians build relationships with the people they support, learn how each client’s business operates, and take real ownership of resolving issues. You will work with a variety of users, industries, systems, and technologies, so no two days are exactly the same.
This is a mid-level position for someone with at least two years of hands-on IT support experience who is ready to step into an active service desk, independently manage client issues, and work through problems from initial diagnosis to resolution. You should be comfortable handling common support requests while also digging into more complex technical problems, collaborating with other technicians, and continuing to expand your skills.
What You'll Do
Your primary responsibility will be supporting our clients and resolving technical issues from initial contact through completion. You will work directly with end users, manage a steady flow of service tickets, and collaborate with other technicians when an issue requires additional expertise.
In this role, you will:
- Troubleshoot and resolve workstation, software, printing, network, mobile device, and peripheral issues
- Provide remote and on-site support to users across a variety of business environments
- Take ownership of assigned tickets, keep clients informed, and follow issues through to resolution
- Document troubleshooting steps, system changes, and final resolutions clearly and accurately
- Support Microsoft 365 applications, user accounts, licensing, permissions, and common administrative tasks
- Assist with user onboarding and offboarding, including account setup, access changes, device preparation, and documentation
- Support Windows workstations and servers, Active Directory environments, file permissions, Group Policy, and DNS
- Troubleshoot basic to mid-level network issues involving firewalls, switches, wireless access points, VLANs, and internet connectivity
- Work with software vendors, internet providers, and other third parties to resolve client issues
- Perform software installations, system updates, patching, and routine endpoint maintenance
- Participate in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule, responding to urgent client issues
- Escalate issues appropriately while providing complete notes and a clear summary of the work already performed
The goal is not simply to close tickets. It is to solve problems thoroughly, communicate clearly, and leave clients confident that their issue has been handled correctly.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who combines a strong technical foundation with excellent communication, organization, and follow-through. You do not need to know every system you encounter, but you should be comfortable troubleshooting unfamiliar issues, asking the right questions, and using available resources to reach a resolution.
Qualified candidates will have:
- At least two years of professional IT support, help desk, desktop support, or systems support experience
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, user accounts, applications, and network connectivity
- Experience supporting Windows workstations in a business environment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications and common administrative functions
- Familiarity with Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, file permissions, DNS, and DHCP
- An understanding of TCP/IP networking, VPNs, wireless networks, firewalls, switches, and VLANs
- Experience supporting printers, scanners, mobile devices, and other common business technology
- The ability to manage multiple tickets and priorities while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to explain technical issues clearly to nontechnical users
- A professional, client-focused approach to support
- The ability to work independently while knowing when to collaborate or escalate
- Reliable documentation and organizational habits
- An understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals and the importance of protecting client systems and data
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from our office
The right person for this role will be dependable, motivated, and willing to take ownership. We value technicians who remain calm under pressure, communicate proactively, and are willing to work through a problem rather than stop at the first obstacle.
Experience That Will Help You Stand Out:
The following experience is not required, but it would help you contribute more quickly in this role:
- Previous experience working for a managed services provider or supporting multiple business environments
- Microsoft Entra ID, hybrid identity, or cloud-based user management
- Virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, and/or Proxmox
- Remote Desktop Services, terminal servers, or virtual desktop environments
- Firewall configuration and support, including routing, subnetting, and access rules
- Endpoint management platforms such as Microsoft Intune or other remote monitoring and management tools
- PowerShell, scripting, or workflow automation
- Cybersecurity tools and practices (SIEM, EDR, Vulnerability Management)
- Industry certifications from Microsoft, CompTIA, or similar organizations
Formal certifications and college degrees are valued, but they are not a substitute for practical ability. If you have strong hands-on experience, sound troubleshooting skills, and a history of supporting users effectively, we encourage you to apply.
Why Join Technology Solutions?
Technology Solutions offers the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients, technologies, and business environments. You will not be confined to one narrow area of IT or expected to spend every day following the same support script. Our technicians are encouraged to develop their skills, contribute ideas, and take on more advanced responsibilities as they grow.
You will work alongside an experienced, collaborative team that shares information, helps one another solve difficult problems, and takes pride in providing dependable service to our clients. We invest in the tools and systems our technicians need to work effectively, and we value practical ability, good judgment, and a willingness to learn.
