Full Job Description

Esperanza is looking for a Clinical Director to lead clinical programming across our residential services for Veterans.

This is a leadership job, not a caseload job. You would supervise three people — our Lead Case Manager, Community Relations Coordinator, and Substance Abuse Program Coordinator — and own the clinical side of how we work: the policies, the standard of practice across programs, the quality of what ends up in a case file, and whether we are meeting what our grants require. You would sit on the leadership team and work directly with the CEO.

About Esperanza

Esperanza En Escalante provides housing and support services to Veterans in Tucson. We operate 72 transitional housing beds, and provide suport services to permanent supportive housing units on a 14-acre campus. Trauma-informed care is our service model — it shapes how we run intake, how we write service plans, and how we handle a hard day.

What you would do

Supervise, mentor, and evaluate three direct reports, and support the Lead Case Manager in leading the case management team
Develop, document, and maintain clinical policies and procedures, and make sure practice is consistent across programs
Provide direct clinical supervision and consultation to case management staff
Review case files for clinical quality and compliance, and monitor program outcomes
Provide oversight for the Substance Abuse Program and develop crisis intervention protocols
Work with the GPD Liaison to keep the program compliant, and oversee data integrity in HMIS
Build relationships with VA mental health services and develop referral networks for substance use, mental health, and medical care
Develop and deliver clinical training for staff
Maintain a Veteran-centered, trauma-informed team culture

What we are looking for

Master's degree with current clinical licensure in good standing
Strong program development and policy writing skills
The ability to lead strategically while letting the people you supervise make decisions
Capacity to build relationships with residents, colleagues, and community partners
Deep respect for Veterans and their service to this country
Ability to pass the background check required for VA-funded programs

Nice to have

supervisory experience in veteran or homeless services
HMIS experience
familiarity with GPD requirements
Veteran Status

Schedule and setting

Office and campus-based, with regular walking between buildings and units. Regular business hours, with occasional evening or weekend availability as program needs require.

Pay and benefits

$85,000 per year.
