Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Operations to lead our Aerospace Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) operations. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to drive operational excellence, spearhead large-scale organizational change, and elevate our business to new heights. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in managing complex operations within aerospace or high-tech manufacturing environments. This individual must be a hands-on leader who can manage daily priorities while building stronger processes, accountability, and performance across the organization. The ideal candidate understands aerospace MRO operations and knows how to balance quality, safety, turnaround time, customer commitments, and profitability.

Duties

Lead daily repair station operational activities.
Manage production planning, scheduling, materials, purchasing, receiving, shipping, and facilities.
Establish and monitor operational KPIs.
Hold supervisors and team members accountable for schedules, quality, and performance.
Identify production bottlenecks and implement practical corrective actions.
Improve workflow, documentation, communication, and coordination between departments.
Work closely with Quality to maintain regulatory compliance and ensure company procedures are followed.
Partner with Sales and Customer Service to ensure customer commitments are realistic and achieved.
Develop staffing plans and support recruiting, training, and employee development.
Manage operational costs, overtime, outside services, and inventory requirements.
Support ERP implementation and continued improvement of operational systems.
Build a culture focused on safety, quality, urgency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Provide regular operational reports and updates to company leadership.

Qualifications

Extensive experience in operations management within aerospace MRO or related high-tech manufacturing sectors.
Proven success in leading large teams through complex change management initiatives.
Demonstrated expertise in operational analysis, process improvement, budgeting, forecasting, and profit & loss management.
Exceptional leadership skills with experience managing senior leadership teams at an executive level.
Proficiency in project management methodologies with a focus on large-scale organizational change projects.
Excellent verbal communication skills suited for engaging with executives and stakeholders at all levels.
Data-driven mindset with the ability to leverage operational metrics for strategic decision-making.
Experience with Quantum, Smart145, or any other aviation-specific ERP systems.
