At Lloyd Construction, our Superintendents are the driving force behind successful project delivery. As a key leadership position on the jobsite, the Superintendent is responsible for overseeing day-to-day field operations and ensuring that every phase of work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the high-quality standards that define Lloyd Construction.
The Superintendent plays a critical role in coordinating subcontractors, field crews, equipment, materials, schedules, and site logistics while maintaining a productive, organized, and safe jobsite environment. This role requires strong leadership, clear communication, sound judgment, and the ability to solve problems quickly so work continues moving forward efficiently.
As the on-site representative of Lloyd Construction, the Superintendent works closely with the Owner, design partners, subcontractors, Project Manager, Project Engineer, and internal project team to protect the company’s interests, uphold our commitment to quality, and deliver a positive experience for all project stakeholders.
The right candidate will be proactive, accountable, safety-focused, detail-oriented, and people-focused. They will understand that leadership at Lloyd means setting the tone in the field, supporting the team, communicating clearly, maintaining strong relationships, and taking ownership of the project from start to finish.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Planning and Coordination
- Oversee and implement the project plan, including scheduling, logistics, and coordination of resources.
- Work with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to align on construction methods, timelines, and expectations.
- Troubleshoot problems that arise on-site, whether related to design, materials, labor, or weather.
- Work with project managers and other stakeholders to address issues quickly and effectively.
- Proactively identify changes in project scope and project conditions and ensure appropriate measures are taken to mitigate Lloyd Construction’s exposure to risk.
Team Leadership and Supervision
- Provide leadership and to establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relationships with all those involved in the project, particularly with the Owner and the Architect and Subcontractors.
- Supervise on-site personnel, including subcontractors, laborers, and field crews.
- Ensure workers understand their duties, tasks are assigned appropriately and provide leadership for all field operations.
- Foster a productive and safe work environment through effective communication and motivation.
Scheduling and Time Management
- Develop and manage daily and weekly schedules, ensuring the work is progressing according to timeline and deadlines.
- Anticipate and resolve scheduling conflicts or delays, ensuring all tasks are completed on time.
- Preparation and tracking of the project schedule.
Quality Control and Compliance
- With the assistance of the Project Manager and Project Engineer, The Superintendent shall ensure the project meets LCC Quality and is completed on time and within established budgets.
- Ensure all work meets the required quality standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Inspect work regularly for quality and safety, conducting walkthroughs and inspections.
- Implement corrective measures if quality standards are not met.
Safety Management
- Enforce all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and training for all workers.
- Identify and mitigate potential hazards on-site, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other safety standards.
Resource Management
- Manage the procurement and allocation of materials and equipment, ensuring supplies are available when needed.
- Track the use of materials and resources to stay within budget.
Budget and Cost Control
- Monitor project costs, track expenses, and help ensure the project stays within budget.
- Identify areas where cost savings can be achieved without sacrificing quality.
- Keep track of all rented and LCC Owned Equipment for intermittent maintenance and call off rented equipment for immediate pick up when complete.
Communication with Stakeholders
- Act as the primary point of contact between the field operations and the office team, including project managers, architects, engineers, and clients.
- Provide daily or weekly updates on project status, progress, and any issues.
- Preparation and coordination of weekly subcontractor meetings.
Documentation and Reporting
- Have a complete and thorough knowledge and understanding of the Contract Documents, the Prime Contract, and all Subcontract agreements.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of work completed, safety inspections, project schedules, and incident reports.
- Maintain accurate time card reporting for all employees on the jobsite.
- Keep all documentation up to date on Procore.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Experience: 5 -10 years of experience in construction, often working up from trade positions or field supervision roles.
- Leadership: Strong ability to lead and manage teams, providing clear instructions and feedback.
- Problem-Solving: Capable of swiftly addressing and resolving on-site issues, while effectively working under pressure and coordinating multiple activities and teams to achieve project objectives.
- Communication: Clear and concise communication with workers, contractors, and clients.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Construction Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, building codes, and safety standards.
- Technology: Proficient in project management software, scheduling tools, and basic construction technology, with extensive use of Excel, Word, Procore, and Microsoft Project.
- Safety Awareness: A strong commitment to ensuring a safe working environment, understanding OSHA regulations, and managing safety protocols.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED – Required
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related fields – Preferred
- 5 -10 years of vertical commercial construction experience in a supervisory or lead field role, including coordination of subcontractors, oversight of daily jobsite activities, and support of on‑site construction operations. – Required
MUST HAVE:
- Valid driver’s license.
- Clean driving record.
- Able to pass drug screen.
CERTIFICATIONS:
- OSHA 30 Certification — Preferred
- First Aid/CPR — Preferred
- Procore Certification — Preferred
