Primary Duties

We are seeking a talented FPGA Design Engineer to join our team in Mississauga, ON. In this role, you will be responsible for creating innovative solutions using digital design techniques, with a focus on FPGA technology, throughout the new product introduction (NPI) design process.

Key Responsibilities include:

Designing FPGA solutions using VHDL language
Conducting simulations using Questa Sim
Utilizing Xilinx design tools for synthesis, debugging, and timing closure
Collaborating with the Verification Team as needed
Integrating library modules within complex FPGA designs
Testing, verifying, and debugging in hardware environment
Participating in design reviews and project meetings
Providing support for product sustaining operations
Developing high-quality documentation
Adhering to coding guidelines and departmental practices
Offering support and input to team members beyond the FPGA team
Contributing to knowledge sharing and continuous innovation
Participating in company training and educational events as required
Proposing and participating in process improvements
Completing additional tasks as assigned by Manager

Desired Skills and Qualifications

Proficiency in Digital Signal Processing techniques
Experience with Digital or Analog Video technology
Knowledge of Matlab for algorithm development
Familiarity with DO254 or other safety critical processes

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent, with at least 6 years of relevant experience, or
Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or
Equivalent of 10 years of relevant experience without a degree.
