Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and maintaining accurate financial records. Your expertise in various accounting software and systems will be essential in supporting our organization’s financial health, providing insightful analysis, and ensuring the integrity of financial data. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced environment where your skills will directly impact our success.

Duties

Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger accounting to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Workday.
Conduct month-end and year-end closing activities, including account analysis and financial statement preparation.
Reconcile accounts and perform detailed account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently.
Support payroll management tasks using systems like ADP, Ceridian, UltiPro, or Kronos while ensuring compliance with payroll regulations.
Assist with budgeting, financial forecasting, and data entry tasks to support strategic planning initiatives.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information while handling data entry and customer service inquiries professionally.
Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and internal audit requirements during all accounting activities.
Utilize advanced Excel data analysis skills for reporting, trend analysis, and financial modeling.
Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and explanations related to accounting transactions.

Experience

Proven accounting experience with a strong understanding of GAAP principles and governmental accounting standards.
Experience working with multiple financial software systems such as Workday, Paychex, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms.
Demonstrated ability in technical accounting areas including journal entries, account reconciliation, double-entry bookkeeping, and general ledger management.
Prior experience in public accounting or corporate accounting environments is highly desirable.
Strong numeracy skills combined with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications—especially Excel—for data analysis and reporting purposes.
Familiarity with SOX compliance procedures and internal controls is preferred.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle confidential information discreetly while managing multiple priorities effectively.
Knowledge of payroll systems like ADP or Ceridian along with experience managing accounts payable/receivable processes will be advantageous.
