Radiologic Technologist – Cardiovascular Cath Lab

Full-Time | Four-Day Workweek | No Call, Nights, Weekends, or Holidays

Tulsa Cardiovascular Center of Excellence is seeking a skilled and motivated Radiologic Technologist to join our cardiovascular procedural team in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Cath Lab or procedural technologist—or a radiologic technologist who has a strong interest in cardiovascular care—to develop specialized skills in peripheral vascular, coronary, and interventional procedures.

Position Summary

The Cardiovascular Radiologic Technologist assists physicians and the clinical team with specialized diagnostic and interventional procedures, including:

Peripheral vascular angiography and intervention
Coronary diagnostic angiography and intervention
Interventional radiology procedures
Digital and conventional radiographic imaging
Intravascular ultrasound, atherectomy, and ultrasound-guided procedures

The technologist is responsible for obtaining high-quality diagnostic images, supporting efficient procedural workflow, maintaining radiation safety, and helping provide a calm and positive experience for each patient.

Primary Responsibilities

Perform radiographic imaging during peripheral vascular, coronary, and other diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Operate radiologic imaging equipment and support the use of intravascular ultrasound, atherectomy, and ultrasound equipment within the technologist’s authorized scope of practice.
Properly position patients and imaging equipment to obtain clear, accurate, and diagnostically useful images.
Review acquired images for clarity, positioning, and technical quality before physician interpretation.
Assist physicians and clinical personnel throughout procedures while maintaining awareness of patient condition, procedural needs, and equipment function.
Apply appropriate radiation-safety practices, including the use of protective devices, exposure-reduction techniques, and required safety protocols.
Comply with applicable governmental regulations and organizational policies related to radiation safety and patient protection.
Prepare procedure rooms, imaging equipment, supplies, and protective devices before each case.
Assist with room turnover and ensure that equipment is cleaned, organized, and ready for the next procedure.
Perform routine equipment checks and promptly report equipment problems or safety concerns.
Maintain accurate procedural, imaging, and radiation documentation.
Follow infection-control, sterile-field, patient-identification, and procedural time-out requirements.
Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients before, during, and after procedures.
Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, technologists, and other members of the procedural team.
Respond appropriately during urgent or emergency situations in accordance with training and established protocols.

Required Qualifications

Current Radiologic Technologist license or credential required for the position
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
Knowledge of radiation-safety standards and imaging-quality principles
Ability to work four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday
Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and organizational skills
Ability to remain composed and responsive in a fast-paced procedural environment
Excellent interpersonal and patient-communication skills
Commitment to patient confidentiality, safety, and regulatory compliance

Preferred Qualifications

Previous Cath Lab, procedural lab, interventional radiology, or cardiovascular experience
Experience with peripheral vascular or coronary angiography procedures
Familiarity with IVUS, atherectomy, ultrasound, or related interventional equipment
Interest in developing advanced cardiovascular procedural skills

Cath Lab or procedural experience is preferred; however, qualified radiologic technologists with a genuine interest in cardiovascular care are encouraged to apply.
