Brut Hotel – Tulsa, OK

Position Overview

At Soma, the host is the first impression and the lasting tone of the guest experience. This role is more than greeting guests—it’s about setting the Soma vibe from the moment they walk in.

We’re looking for someone who is warm, confident, organized, and able to manage the flow of the restaurant while delivering an experience that feels both elevated and approachable.

Core Responsibilities

Guest Experience

Greet every guest with genuine hospitality and energy
Create a welcoming, upbeat first impression that reflects Soma’s brand
Manage reservations, walk-ins, and waitlists with confidence and efficiency
Escort guests to tables while communicating key details (server name, specials, etc.)
Maintain strong awareness of the dining room to ensure smooth service flow

Floor Management

Control table pacing and rotation to support the service team
Communicate clearly with servers, bartenders, and management
Monitor seating charts and adjust in real time based on volume
Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entry

Communication & Coordination

Act as the bridge between front door and dining room
Relay accurate wait times and manage guest expectations
Handle guest concerns at the door with professionalism and urgency
Stay in constant communication with leadership during shifts

Opening & Closing Duties

Prepare host stand (menus, reservation systems, cleanliness)
Ensure all menus are clean, presentable, and current
Close out systems, organize materials, and reset for next service

Soma Service Expectations

Be approachable, not scripted—use your personality
Read the room and adjust tone based on the guest
Stay calm and composed in high-volume situations
Represent the brand with confidence and pride
Help create an environment where guests want to stay longer

Qualifications

Strong communication and people skills
Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure
Positive attitude and team-first mindset
Experience with reservation platforms (preferred but not required)
Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays
