Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking an organized, dependable, and knowledgeable FedEx Business Coordinator/Business Contact (BC) to support the daily operations of our FedEx delivery business. The BC will serve as a key liaison between the terminal, management, and drivers, overseeing daily operations, communicating performance expectations, reviewing FedEx reports, supporting drivers, and ensuring compliance with FedEx and company standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of FedEx operations, be comfortable working with daily performance reports and FedEx terminology, and be able to train, coach, and hold drivers accountable for operational and service standards. The successful candidate must also be able and willing to operate a FedEx delivery vehicle and complete delivery routes when operational needs require.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Terminal Communication & Recap

Review and understand the daily recap from the FedEx terminal.
Share key terminal updates, operational changes, service expectations, and performance concerns with management and drivers.
Participate in daily discussions about operational performance.
Identify urgent issues and follow up with the appropriate drivers or management.
Ensure drivers understand daily expectations and terminal updates.
Maintain clear, timely communication among the terminal, management, and drivers.

FedEx Performance & Reporting

Review FedEx reports to identify service failures, missed scans, package exceptions, late deliveries, and other performance concerns.
Monitor package scan compliance and ensure drivers scan packages correctly.
Review FedEx codes and ensure drivers use the correct codes for deliveries, exceptions, pickups, and other package activity.
Investigate discrepancies and work with drivers to resolve recurring issues.
Track driver performance and report concerns to management.
Help identify trends and operational issues that may affect service performance or company revenue.

Driver Management & Support

Serve as a primary point of contact for drivers regarding daily operational questions and concerns.
Communicate daily assignments, expectations, updates, and operational changes.
Monitor and address driver attendance, punctuality, route performance, scanning compliance, and service levels.
Address driver performance issues promptly and escalate serious or recurring concerns to management.
Ensure drivers understand and follow company and FedEx policies and procedures.
Assist drivers with resolving route, package, customer, scanning, and delivery issues.
Maintain professional and consistent communication with the driver team.
Identify recurring training gaps and recommend additional coaching or corrective action.

Safety & Operational Compliance

Enforce company safety policies and procedures.
Promote safe driving habits and defensive driving practices.
Investigate vehicle accidents, customer complaints, injuries, and safety incidents.
Complete all required accident documentation and incident reports.
Ensure drivers comply with DOT regulations and company standards.
Follow up on missing, unscanned, incorrectly coded, or mishandled packages.
Support management with investigations into service failures, customer complaints, package discrepancies, and operational incidents.

Fleet Management

Coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs for delivery vehicles; and manage all MMR submissions and QVI inspections
Monitor vehicle inspections and ensure drivers complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
Report mechanical concerns promptly.
Minimize vehicle downtime through proactive maintenance scheduling.

Administrative Responsibilities

Ensure all required documentation and operational reports are completed accurately and on time.
Track performance metrics and coaching drivers on identified opportunities for improvement.

Customer Service

Actively monitor and address customer complaints professionally and promptly.
Maintain positive relationships with FedEx personnel and customers.
Ensure drivers provide courteous, professional service at every delivery

Required Qualifications

Minimum high school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
Previous FedEx, courier, logistics, transportation, or delivery operations experience strongly preferred
Previous leadership or supervisory experience in logistics, transportation, delivery, warehouse, or distribution operations is an asset.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Ability to multitask and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to communicate professionally with FedEx terminal personnel, management, and drivers.
Ability to motivate a team to perform at the highest level by inspiring a shared vision and empowering them to act
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to pass all required background checks, drug screening, and FedEx qualification requirements.

Physical Requirements

Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull packages weighing up to 150 lbs. with appropriate equipment.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb in and out of delivery vehicles, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons and operational emergencies.

Schedule

Full-Time, Monday – Sunday (6 days a week)
Early morning start times; must be flexible to stay until daily operations are complete.
