Full Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS

Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Business Management, or a related field preferred.
Oklahoma Director's Credential required.
Previous experience in early childhood education, Head Start, childcare administration, or a related field preferred.
Must successfully complete required OSBI/DHS background checks.
Must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation necessary to perform job duties.
Current liability insurance in the employee's name is required.
Current physical examination and TB screening are required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide leadership and serve as a professional role model for Head Start/Early Head Start staff, consultants, volunteers, and other individuals working at the center. Promote appropriate early childhood practices and professional conduct.
Designate a qualified Person in Charge when absent.
Maintain facility background checks. Ensuring that they are kept confidential and in a locked location at all times.
Maintain current and accurate licensing, STARS, OKRegistry, ChildPlus, CCMASS, and other required program records and documentation.
Serve as the designated Site Director for DHS licensing purposes and attend required licensing and program training.
Maintain compliance with the Oklahoma STARS/Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) requirements and ensure required documentation is completed and maintained.
Report accidents and incidents requiring medical attention to the appropriate licensing authority within the required timeframe of 24 hours. Maintain the center's incident, poison exposure, and other required compliance logs.
Conduct daily safety and security checks to ensure unauthorized individuals do not have access to the facility and that emergency exits and escape routes remain unobstructed.
Conduct routine inspections of the building, grounds, and equipment to identify maintenance and safety needs. Ensure identified concerns are addressed and that the center remains in compliance with applicable licensing, fire department, and health department requirements. Submit ChildPlus work orders as needed.
Oversee the overall operation, cleanliness, organization, and appearance of the center, including staff office areas and common spaces. Ensure areas are appropriately cleaned and restored following use.
Conduct weekly staff meetings and communicate program information, expectations, responsibilities, and updates to all center staff.
Order and submit requisitions for center supplies and materials on a monthly basis and as needed.
Provide appropriate duties and direction to volunteers and monitor volunteer participation and in-kind hours.
Work collaboratively with center staff and community partners to identify and generate in-kind contributions that benefit the Head Start program.
Participate in the OKRegistry and complete a minimum of 30 hours of professional development annually, or as otherwise required by program or licensing standards.
Attend and actively participate in Pre-Service, In-Service, and other required training and professional development activities, including training that may require overnight or out-of-area travel.
Report employee absences and tardiness to Head Start Central Office in accordance with agency Personnel Policies.
Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, staff, and agency information and records.
Fulfill mandated reporter responsibilities in accordance with agency Child Abuse and Neglect policies and applicable law.
Ensure the needs of all children are recognized and addressed and support an environment that promotes children's safety, development, and well-being.
Maintain positive and productive working relationships with staff, families, community partners, and other agency personnel.
Demonstrate commitment to the agency's mission, vision, and values and to the Head Start Program Performance Standards and applicable policies and procedures.
Participate in community outreach and develop partnerships with local organizations and community members to support the needs of the center and program.
Complete and submit monthly, quarterly, annual, and other reports as requested.
Follow all agency Personnel Policies and procedures established by the Board of Directors and Policy Council.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Start Director.
