Medical Assistant – Cardiovascular Care
Full-time | Monday–Friday | 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Tulsa Cardiovascular Center of Excellence is seeking a compassionate, motivated Medical Assistant who has experience in cardiovascular care—or a strong interest in developing specialized cardiology skills.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Medical Assistant who enjoys building meaningful relationships with patients, learning advanced clinical concepts, and working closely with physicians in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. Cardiovascular experience is preferred, but we welcome candidates who are eager to learn and committed to delivering exceptional care.

What You’ll Do

As a Medical Assistant, you will play an important role in helping our clinical team understand each patient’s condition and provide timely, coordinated care. Responsibilities include:

Rooming patients and preparing them for examinations
Obtaining and documenting vital signs
Performing EKGs
Assessing and documenting patient pulses and circulation findings as directed
Reviewing medication lists and developing a strong understanding of commonly prescribed cardiovascular medications
Gathering information about symptoms, concerns, and changes in a patient’s condition
Supporting clinical triage under the direction of physicians and licensed clinical staff
Recognizing potentially urgent symptoms and promptly bringing them to the physician’s attention
Answering patient questions within the Medical Assistant’s role and directing clinical questions appropriately
Communicating clearly with patients, physicians, and other members of the care team
Maintaining accurate, timely, and complete medical documentation
Helping create an organized, efficient, and reassuring experience for every patient

Training and Professional Development

We provide a structured training program combining hands-on instruction and didactic education, typically lasting three to four weeks. Training is designed to help you become confident in cardiovascular workflows, EKG testing, medication knowledge, symptom assessment, patient communication, and appropriate escalation of clinical concerns.

Successful candidates must be enthusiastic learners who are receptive to coaching and committed to developing their cardiovascular knowledge.

What We’re Looking For

Medical Assistant education, training, or relevant clinical experience
Cardiovascular or cardiology experience preferred
Interest in learning cardiovascular medicine and patient assessment
Ability to obtain accurate vital signs and perform EKGs, or willingness to learn
Strong communication and patient-service skills
Sound judgment and the ability to recognize and promptly escalate patient concerns
Attention to detail and accurate documentation skills
Ability to remain calm, organized, and compassionate in a busy clinical setting
Dependability, professionalism, and a collaborative approach to teamwork
Genuine dedication to providing an outstanding patient experience
