CNC Lathe Machinist / CNC Programmer (Multi-Axis Turning & Milling)

Pay: $35.00–$40.00 per hour (based on experience)

Schedule

First Shift
Tuesday through Friday
6:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Four 10-hour shifts
One-hour lunch
Three-day weekends every week

Position Overview

GTM Manufacturing is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist/Programmer to join our growing team. This position focuses on machining precision aerospace and industrial components in a high-mix, low-volume job shop environment.

This is not a production operator position. You will regularly work on new parts, different materials, and challenging machining projects requiring setup, programming, and problem-solving skills.

Our ideal candidate enjoys variety, takes pride in producing high-quality work, and has experience setting up and programming multi-axis CNC lathes.

Equipment You'll Work With

(3) DN Solutions (Doosan) Lynx 2100LSYB Multi-Axis Mill-Turn Lathes
(1) Two-Axis CNC Lathe
(3) Haas Vertical Machining Centers
(1) DN Solutions SVM4100 Milling Machine
(1) Nomura 20mm Swiss-Type CNC Lathe

Experience with Swiss-style lathes is a plus but not required.

Primary Responsibilities

Set up, program, and operate CNC lathes and other machining equipment.
Develop efficient machining processes and select proper tooling.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.
Inspect parts to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
Machine a wide variety of materials including aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, and other aerospace alloys.
Work independently while maintaining quality and production standards.
Assist in continuous improvement of machining processes and setup efficiency.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of CNC lathe experience
Experience setting up and programming CNC turning centers
Strong understanding of G-Code and M-Code programming
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
Experience selecting cutting tools and machining strategies
Familiarity with Fanuc controls

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with multi-axis mill-turn lathes
Milling experience
Fusion 360 CAD/CAM
Prototype and short-run machining experience
