Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper with at least 1–2 years of bookkeeping or related experience to join our growing team. We welcome candidates across a range of backgrounds and experience levels and provide structured onboarding, ongoing training, and mentorship to support your growth. This role is responsible for managing client financial records, ensuring accuracy in bookkeeping processes, and delivering timely and reliable financial reporting. The ideal candidate is organized, attentive to detail, and committed to excellent client service. The ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently is key, and something we will continue to develop together.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Record Management:
- Maintain and manage client accounting records using QuickBooks Desktop and/or QuickBooks Online.
- Record and categorize financial transactions, including invoices, bills, journal entries, and adjustments.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including bill payments and invoicing.
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Manage client data across multiple platforms, including QuickBooks, QBO, Excel, Word, Keeper, and other systems.
- Review financial reports such as balance sheets and income statements for accuracy.
- Assist with preparation and organization of financial data for reporting purposes.
- Identify, research, and resolve discrepancies, variances, and unusual transactions.
- Maintain accurate and organized balance sheet support and documentation.
- Client Interaction and Customer Service:
- Communicate professionally with clients via phone, email, and meetings as needed.
- Respond to client inquiries in a timely, clear, and accurate manner.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through reliable and consistent service.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date client records in both digital and physical formats when applicable.
- Workflow, Deadlines & Administrative Responsibilities:
- Manage assigned client workload and meet internal and external deadlines.
- Track and record time accurately for billing purposes.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all financial work performed.
- Research and resolve discrepancies or issues in client financial data.
- Follow company policies and procedures related to data security, privacy, and confidentiality.
- Team Collaboration and Independence:
- Work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple client accounts.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure consistent and high-quality service delivery.
- Demonstrate initiative in problem-solving and process execution.

Minimum Requirements – All Candidates
- 1–2 years of bookkeeping, accounting, or closely related experience (paid, volunteer, or internship).
- Basic understanding of accounting principles such as debits, credits, and financial statements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication.
- Ability to learn new software and systems quickly.
- Reliability, accountability, and a team-oriented attitude.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of client and company financial records.
Preferred Qualifications
The following are not required but may strengthen your application:
- A combination of education and experience in accounting, business, or a related field will be considered.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and/or QuickBooks Online.
- Experience using QuickBooks Desktop and/or QuickBooks Online.
- Experience working in a multi-client or public accounting/bookkeeping firm environment.
- Experience with payroll processing, sales tax filing, or other compliance-related tasks.
- Familiarity with additional accounting or workflow platforms (e.g., Keeper or similar tools).
- Experience supporting clients directly in a professional services or client-facing role.
