Full Job Description

Branch Manager / Licensed Mortgage Loan Originator — Equity Partner Track

Location: Alabama (Remote / Statewide) Compensation: Base salary + equity participation + uncapped production and override compensation

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced, Alabama-licensed Mortgage Loan Originator to serve as the licensed principal and operating leader of a mortgage brokerage branch — with the branch licensed and established in their name.

This is a leadership and ownership-track role, not a desk seat. You will hold the company license, build and lead the origination team, develop referral relationships across your market, and run the branch's day-to-day operations. Our focus is DSCR, non-QM, and investor loan products, and we bring an existing pipeline of investor business to seed your production from day one.

The right person is a producer and a builder: someone with established relationships in the Alabama market, the drive to recruit and develop a team of MLOs, and the operational discipline to run a compliant, well-organized shop. In exchange, you receive a base salary, an equity stake in the business, and a compensation structure heavily weighted toward what you and your team produce.

Responsibilities

License & Branch Leadership

Serve as the licensed principal for the branch, with the branch established and licensed in your name
Maintain the branch's licensing, bonding, and regulatory standing in good order
Take ownership of the branch's day-to-day operations, performance, and growth

Team Building

Recruit, onboard, train, and lead a team of licensed Mortgage Loan Originators across Alabama
Assist with training, managing, and overseeing loan processors
Establish consistent processes, workflows, and accountability across the team
Build a production culture with clear standards and measurable results

Business Development

Develop and maintain referral relationships with real estate investors, agents, title companies, builders, and other referral partners
Represent the brokerage in your market and grow branch loan volume
Partner with ownership on strategy, expansion, and business development for the brokerage overall

Production & Operations

Originate and manage residential mortgage loans from application through closing
Manage a pipeline primarily consisting of DSCR, non-QM, and investor loans
Review borrower documentation for completeness and accuracy
Prepare and submit complete loan packages to wholesale lenders and underwriting teams
Manage disclosures, underwriting conditions, deadlines, and closing requirements
Communicate effectively with borrowers, processors, lenders, title companies, and other parties
Monitor the active pipeline and proactively keep files moving toward closing
Ensure loan files and brokerage operations comply with applicable federal and Alabama regulations

Qualifications

Active Alabama Mortgage Loan Originator license (NMLS) in good standing
Ability and willingness to serve as the licensed principal / qualifying individual for the branch, and to meet the Alabama State Banking Department's requirements for that role
Hands-on mortgage loan-processing experience and a strong command of the process from application through closing
Experience with DSCR, non-QM, or investor loans strongly preferred
Established referral relationships in the Alabama market
Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, and lead other originators or processors
Leadership or mortgage-operations experience preferred
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to independently manage multiple active files and deadlines
Dependable, detail-oriented, self-directed, and comfortable working remotely

Compensation

This role is structured for someone who wants ownership, not just a paycheck.

Base salary — commensurate with experience
Equity participation in the brokerage, in consideration of serving as the licensed principal and building the branch
Uncapped production compensation on your personal originations
Override compensation on the production of the team you build
Compensation grows directly with branch volume and operational responsibility

Specific figures — base, equity stake, and basis-point structure — will be discussed in detail with qualified candidates.
