Job Overview

Join our dynamic culinary team as a Prep Cook and bring your passion for food to life! About the Position

we are a fast-paced Asian-inspired light food restaurant in Irvine. We are looking for a responsible and reliable Kitchen Prep Cook / Line Cook to join our team.

Our kitchen is typically operated by a small team of one to two people per shift. This position is responsible for both daily food preparation and efficiently completing customer orders. We are looking for someone who works well in a fast-paced environment and is interested in a long-term, stable position.

Duties

Prepare ingredients according to recipes and menu specifications, including slicing, dicing, and portioning food items using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
Assist in meal preparation by assembling salads, garnishes, and side dishes with precision and consistency
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including mixers, ovens, slicers, and food processors
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety standards and sanitation protocols
Support the culinary team in following recipe adherence to ensure uniform quality across all dishes
Assist with food handling procedures to uphold food safety management practices throughout the preparation process

Requirements

Prior experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is highly desirable
Demonstrated experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant environments with a focus on safety standards in production
Knowledge of food industry best practices including food handling, safety procedures, and sanitation regulations
Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with kitchen staff and ensure smooth operations
Familiarity with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation techniques
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks such as slicing and lifting ingredients
Culinary experience that includes knife skills, slicing techniques, and familiarity with kitchen equipment operation is preferred
Available for approximately 10-hour shifts
Looking for a long-term and stable position

Kitchen Environment

Clean, light-food kitchen with no heavy grease or smoke
Cooking is done using induction cooktops and ovens
Small kitchen team with clear responsibilities
Fast-paced, high-volume service environment
Training and clear operating procedures will be provided

Kitchen experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate with a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Paid training.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
