Full Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to support students with behavioral challenges at Robert Stuart Middle School. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers and special education staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. This part-time position is essential in helping students develop social skills, manage their behaviors, and achieve academic success.

Responsibilities

Assist teachers in implementing individualized behavior intervention plans for students.
Provide direct support to students in the classroom and during transitions to ensure appropriate behavior.
Monitor student progress and document behavioral incidents, providing feedback to teachers and support staff.
Collaborate with teachers and other paraeducators to develop strategies that promote positive behavior and engagement.
Facilitate small group activities that encourage social skills development and teamwork.
Assist in the supervision of students during lunch, recess, and other non-classroom settings.
Participate in training and professional development sessions to enhance skills in behavior management and intervention techniques.
Maintain a safe and supportive environment for all students, addressing any behavioral issues promptly and effectively.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in education, psychology, or a related field is preferred. - Requires two years of college, an AA degree, or successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment (Praxis Exam).

Experience working with children or adolescents, particularly those with behavioral challenges, is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and parents.
Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in helping students succeed.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations with discretion.
Willingness to undergo background checks and comply with school district policies and procedures.
