Full Job Description

Position Summary

Seven Oaks Women's Center is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented AAPC Certified Medical Coder to join our growing Revenue Cycle team. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of professional medical coding experience, with a strong preference for OB/GYN specialty coding. This position is responsible for accurately reviewing provider documentation, assigning ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes, ensuring coding compliance, and supporting timely claim submission and reimbursement.

The successful candidate is a motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, maintains exceptional accuracy, and is committed to ongoing education in coding guidelines and regulatory updates.

Essential Responsibilities

Review physician documentation and assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifier codes.
Code office visits, surgical procedures, obstetrical services, hospital encounters, and ancillary services.
Ensure documentation supports code selection and reimbursement requirements.
Identify coding discrepancies, bundling services and procedures, and modifier opportunities.
Work collaboratively with providers and billing staff to resolve coding questions.
Maintain productivity while meeting established quality standards.
Stay current on CMS, AMA, payer-specific, and specialty coding updates.
Participate in coding education, training sessions, and continuing education opportunities.
Utilize ModMed EMR and billing applications efficiently.
Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality of patient information.

Required Qualifications

AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC).
3–5 years of professional medical coding experience.
Strong knowledge of:
ICD-10-CM
CPT coding
HCPCS Level II
National Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI) edits
Modifier application
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous OB/GYN specialty coding experience preferred.
Experience coding surgical procedures and obstetrical services.
Experience using Modernizing Medicine (ModMed) or a comparable specialty EMR.
Familiarity with payer policies, documentation requirements, and denial prevention strategies.
