At the East Texas Crisis Center, our values of compassion, respect, empowerment, and hope guide everything we do. Since 1978, ETCC has provided a safe haven for those impacted by family violence, dating violence, and sexual assault. We offer shelter, counseling, advocacy, education, and prevention services with the goal of restoring dignity and purpose while promoting public compassion and awareness to reduce violence in our communities. In addition, through our Battering Intervention and Prevention Program (BIPP), we work directly with individuals who have caused harm, helping them recognize abusive behaviors and build healthier, nonviolent relationships.

Position Summary:

To facilitate psycho-educational Batterers Intervention and Prevention groups (BIPP), in accordance with the guidelines adapted by the Texas Council of Family Violence, to enhance victim safety and educate batterers, by focusing on the batterer’s capacity to change.

Minimum Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in social work, psychology, criminal justice or closely related field. Relevant experience in domestic violence or gender-based violence services may be considered.

· Must have experience with filing, typing, computer entry, and word processing programs. Familiarity with letterforms and other types of correspondence is needed. Professional communication skills are essential. Spanish fluency a plus.

· Experience facilitating counseling or psycho-education groups.

Job Type: Full-time. Including evenings and weekends.

Salary: Based on experience.
