Full Job Description

Columbia College (www.ccdc.edu) in Vienna, Virginia (Tysons), seeks a full time, dependable, flexible, responsible bookkeeper. The ideal candidates are fast-learner, team worker, have strong communication and problem-solving skills. This role requires fluency in Korean.

[SCHEDULE]

Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

OVERVIEW:

Performs a variety of general bookkeeping, record keeping, accounting functions, administrative and office clerical duties; and computes, classifies, and records numerical data to keep sets of financial records complete.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILIES INCLUDED:

Keeps an accurate record of incomes sources (e.g., tuition) in Excel file.
Monitors and review Tuition Records in the SMART system.
Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, entering/updating data and issuing paychecks.
Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.
Keeps accurate records and receipts for disbursements, the funds allotted to the school for the purchase of supplies, equipment, etc.
Maintains a complete bookkeeping system for the school and events.
Utilizes word processing equipment to prepare general correspondences, memorandums, reports, and other materials from rough draft, copy, marginal notes, or verbal instruction.
Maintains and records file and documents related to the Department.
Checks and reviews a variety of data for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to established standards and procedures.
Collects and prepares expenditure data at the end of each month (or period) for records and reports.
Maintains records and generates appropriate reports.
Maintains and respects the confidentiality of students and staffs related information.
Reconciles monthly bank statements.
Performs related tasks as assigned by the supervisor under the school.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
Previous experience working in accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll and payroll reports.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Excellent computer skills, including Word and Excel in a Microsoft Windows environment.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Strong knowledges of generally accepted accounting principles.
Storing understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computations.
Skills in database management and record keeping.
Excellent interpersonal skills, able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality.
Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
Must be able to gather and analyze information skillfully.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
