Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Pharmacy Manager to lead our pharmacy operations with enthusiasm and expertise. This pivotal role involves overseeing daily pharmacy functions, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards, and delivering exceptional patient care. As a Pharmacy Manager, you will inspire your team, optimize pharmacy workflows, and uphold the highest standards of safety and service. Your leadership will directly impact patient outcomes and community health by fostering a collaborative, efficient, and compliant environment.

Duties

Manage daily pharmacy operations, including medication dispensing, inventory management, and staff scheduling to ensure seamless service delivery.
Lead and motivate pharmacy staff by providing training, mentorship, and performance feedback to cultivate a high-performing team.
Ensure adherence to all state and federal pharmacy laws, including HIPAA, drug regulation policies, USP 797 standards for sterile compounding, and other healthcare compliance requirements.
Oversee patient care activities such as medication therapy management, patient assessments, immunizations, and pain management protocols.
Maintain accurate documentation in Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS), Electronic Medical Records (EMR), and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems while safeguarding clinical confidentiality policies.
Conduct regular audits of pharmacy operations to ensure regulatory compliance and optimize workflow efficiency.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to support clinical pharmacy services, including pediatrics, LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy services, and medical management initiatives.
Manage inventory levels meticulously to prevent shortages or overstocking while ensuring medication safety through aseptic techniques and compounding medications when necessary.
Facilitate ongoing staff training on pharmacy software updates, drug regulation changes, basic life support (BLS), and pharmacy operations best practices.

Experience

Proven experience practicing as a licensed pharmacist with a strong background in clinical pharmacy settings.
Critical care experience is highly desirable for managing complex medication therapies in acute or intensive care environments.
Prior pharmacy residency or advanced training in pharmaceutical sciences enhances leadership capabilities.
Demonstrated success managing pharmacy teams within community or LTC settings with a focus on patient service excellence.
Extensive knowledge of pharmacy laws at the state and federal levels along with pharmaceutical regulatory compliance standards such as USP 797.
Hands-on experience with pharmacy software systems including PIS, EMR/EHR platforms, and inventory management tools.
Familiarity with immunizations administration, drug regulation policies, physiology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology to support comprehensive patient care.
Experience in managing aseptic techniques for sterile compounding and pain management protocols is preferred.
Strong communication skills for client interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration within healthcare teams.
