JOB SUMMARY:
The Convenience Store (C-Store) Supervisor/Administrative Assistant is primarily responsible for managing the C-Store in the absence of the Store Manager. Managerial responsibilities of the C-Store Supervisor shall consist of, but not be limited to, supervising and directing the activities of employees, ensuring excellent customer service, training and development of employees, monitoring compliance with company policies and procedures, maximizing sales and profitability, and maintaining appropriate stock levels and inventory. This position is also responsible for inventory control.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Manage appropriate merchandise stock levels; merchandise adjacencies and presentations, signing, and assortment in all departments; ensure the selling floor is adequately stocked.

Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, entering products, costs, and ensuring prices are accurate.

Perform monthly category inventory at the direction of the store manager based on a fixed schedule. Develop a plan of action to address and correct any discrepancies.
- Co-manage the POS system and back-office system in concert with the Store Manager’s established standard practices.

Ensure that each guest receives outstanding guest service by providing a guest-friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging every guest, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge, and all other components of guest service.
- Provides coaching, guidance, and instruction to employees in the proper performance of duties, policies, and procedures.

Directs and participates in the regular and frequent cleaning and dusting of the store, and the arrangement of the stock.
- Ensure a high level of sanitation and cleanliness.

Must be able to work well with Co-workers/Managers.

Supervise, schedule, and direct the activities of other store employees.

Training and development of new employees.
-
Assist the C-Store Manager with investigating inventory variations and shortages.
-
Regularly review cashier accountability sheets and records as prescribed by the C-Store Manager.

Ensure security and safety of the store; comply with all environmental and safety guidelines.

In charge of pump and associated equipment maintenance as directed by store leadership.

Report any issue of misconduct to management or the appropriate authority.

Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations, laws, internal policies/ procedures, and internal control protocols.

Manage employees to perform specific tasks and conduct meetings with staff in the absence of the C-Store Manager.
- Provide courteous and prompt resolution of employee and/or customer issues.

Fill in as a cashier with all related duties when needed (when there is a high level of customers or when someone calls out).

Must be available 24/7 and flexible regarding the schedule.

Must maintain consistent communication with the C-Store Manager.

May participate in Tribal events, including community and non-profit events.

Maintains professional behavior with positive representation of Coyote Valley while on and off the clock.

Must maintain strict confidentiality during and after employment.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED. Some technical training or higher education preferred.
- Two years (2) of supervisory experience.
- Must have inventory control and/or accounting experience.
- Four (4) years of related retail experience or equivalent combination of education experience.
