The Tousey House Tavern

5963 N. Jefferson Street, Burlington, Kentucky 41005

The Tousey House Tavern is a continuously growing restaurant with untapped potential. Since opening the doors in 2008, we have gained a consistent list of guests that are gracing our dining rooms and bar in repeat fashion. Professional attitudes, smiling faces, and consistency are what make us competitive and familiar in "NKY Best Restaurant" conversations. An upscale and comfortable atmosphere, fast paced, and friendly staff allow the guests to enjoy a casual meal or night out for their special event. The guests sit at our tables for the food, but they continue to come back for the experience. Located 15 minutes from CVG Airport in the heart of Burlington's historic district.

Position Overview

This position will work directly with our General Manager. Administer all aspects of the front of the house operations. Full accountability of the day to day business functions of the restaurant to ensure that a high level of consistent guest service is achieved and maintained. Ensures that all employees are well informed of departmental goals and objectives and that all employee related issues are resolved in a timely and professional manner.

1. Oversee that all opening and closing duties of the outlets are completed correctly and that cleanliness and maintenance are maintained

2. Balancing of all daily and nightly cash drawers and POS

3. Inventory and maintenance of par levels for front of house items

4. Providing excellent customer service to guests and excellent leadership to employees

5. Enforce and monitor all health, safety, labor department and sanitation standards in their area

6. Handle guest complaints according to provided guidelines

7. Work closely with the Chef to provide a seamless experience

8. Implement and manage training programs, quality and cost control of the entire restaurant.

9. Move throughout facility and kitchen areas to visually monitor and take action to ensure food and beverage quality and service standards are met. Give guidance toward improvement and make necessary adjustments for consistency.

10. Utilize computer to set up for the day including programing specials, employee stations, and printing revenue reports.

11. Train, supervise, counsel, review performance and discipline restaurant staff.

12. Manage the maintenance and upkeep of the entire facility.

13. Planing and executing of private events.

Experience / Qualifications:

At least 2-3 years of recent management experience in a full-service restaurant
Food Handlers Certification
Must possess excellent people skills and verbal and written communication skills. Full flexibility to accommodate varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the restaurant.
Experience with Open Table
Experience with Toast POS
