Full Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding and timely submission of claims to insurance companies. Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid billing is required, combined with a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and billing procedures is essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

Review patient records for accuracy and completeness prior to billing.
Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
Follow up on unpaid claims, working with insurance companies to resolve any discrepancies.
Communicate with patients/families and facilities
Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding standards.
Prepare census

Requirements

Proficiency in medical billing processes, Medicare and Medicaid billing
Experience in a medical office setting is preferred, along with familiarity with medical collection practices.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, insurance representatives, and healthcare staff.
Prior experience in billing software, medical coding or knowledge of coding systems is a plus.
A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
