Full Job Description

Description:

This Medical Office Supervisor position leads daily operations and oversees the administrative team in a busy orthopaedic practice. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for managing patient flow, staff scheduling, operational efficiency, and ensuring exceptional service in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate brings 3-5 years of medical office supervisory experience, thrives in high-volume settings, and possesses strong leadership skills to coach and develop staff while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. Spanish language skills are a plus but not required.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education & Experience

Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory or management experience in a medical office setting (REQUIRED)
Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume medical environment (ESSENTIAL)
Experience in Orthopedics strongly preferred; candidates from other medical specialties (e.g., Sports Medicine, Pain Management, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation) with relevant supervisory experience will be considered
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred

Core Competencies & Skills

Proven leadership and team management skills with ability to supervise, coach, mentor, and develop administrative and clinical support staff effectively
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with capacity to manage competing priorities and maintain efficiency in a dynamic, high-volume orthopaedic practice environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact professionally and diplomatically with physicians, staff, patients, and external stakeholders
Proactive problem-solving mindset with ability to anticipate issues, implement process improvements, and resolve operational challenges quickly
Comprehensive knowledge of medical office operations including patient scheduling, registration, insurance verification, billing procedures, and revenue cycle management
Solid understanding of HIPAA compliance, OSHA regulations, healthcare privacy requirements, and other federal, state, and local regulatory standards
Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and practice management software; experience with ModMed strongly preferred
Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments to ensure seamless internal operations

Preferred Qualifications

Spanish language skills (fluent or conversational) strongly preferred to better serve our diverse patient population
Prior experience in multi-location medical practice or large group practice setting
Certification in healthcare management (e.g., CMPE, CMOM, PAHCOM) a plus

OrthoNJ, LLC is required by New Jersey law to include the salary range for this role. The hiring range for this role is $75-95k annually. The range for this role is typically determined by several factors, including the geography in which the selected candidate will be working, and alignment with qualifications and experience. Certain roles may also be eligible for additional compensation (bonus, etc.) and/or benefits. In addition, full-time employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental, vison and retirement plan.
