Our Company

Dicalite Minerals Corporation is a growing international industrial minerals company with 16 facilities across North America and Europe. Operating through a fully integrated network of five mining complexes and twelve refining, processing and packaging facilities, the company has a unique multi-mineral platform that includes perlite, vermiculite and diatomaceous earth. These processed minerals are used in a wide variety of applications, including food and beverage filtration, water treatment, construction materials such as acoustic tiles, horticulture irrigation, functional additives for coatings, fire retardant coatings and many more. Our brands, including Dicalite, Specialty Vermiculite, Dicaperl, Chemrock Cryogenics and Microlite, are well established. Dicalite’s core business is selling wholesale products to blue chip customers such as US Gypsum, MP Materials, Sherwin Williams, Scotts Miracle-Gro, Cargill, numerous California wineries, 3M, and Nestle Purina, among others.

Broad Function:

The purpose of the Mobile Equipment Operator is to excavate and move vermiculite, dirt, rock, sand and other raw materials.

Primary Responsibilities:

Fluidly and effectively move machine, create and move stockpiles and an ability to dig, lift, swing and dump contents of shovel into truck, car, conveyor, hopper or stockpile
Responsible for the safe operation of equipment, follow all traffic rules on and off the company property
Meet and exceed productivity standards in a timely manner and adapt to changes in the work environment
Specific vision abilities required including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Maintain telephone or radio contact with Supervisor to receive instructions
Inspect equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water
Assist in performance of emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains, etc.
Inspect equipment for defects before, during and after shifts and submit report indicating equipment condition
Follow all federal and state safety regulations and company safety policies/procedures
Keep the equipment clean and presentable
Perform equipment maintenance as required
Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively both written and verbal in the English language when performing the job requirements.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

CDL required.
The ability to work with a high degree of autonomy
Strong attention to detail
Possess excellent operations and safety record
Consistently at work and on time, meet schedules and deadlines on time
Demonstrate the ability to adapt to changes in the work environment
Aptitude for Heavy Equipment Operation
Up to date knowledge of laws and compliance regulations
Good DMV record.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical
Will be subject to DOT random drug and alcohol testing

Working Conditions:

Outdoor environments, moderate to loud noise levels.
Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting and climbing.
Required to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
