Full Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join its corporate finance leadership team. This is a highly visible role for a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment and enjoys partnering across the organization to drive financial accuracy, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Reporting to senior finance leadership, the Assistant Controller will oversee corporate general ledger operations, financial reporting, multi-entity consolidations, audit coordination, and internal controls while helping lead the General Ledger team. This individual will work closely with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and operational leadership to ensure the integrity of the company's financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in leading and developing the General Ledger accounting team.
Oversee the corporate general ledger and financial allocations across multiple entities and operating locations.
Prepare and review monthly financial reporting packages, including consolidated financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, income statement analysis, intercompany reconciliations, and key account reviews.
Support the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Partner with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and other departments to ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial transactions.
Serve as the primary point of contact for external financial statement audits, coordinating audit schedules, supporting documentation, and responding to audit requests.
Support regulatory reporting and compliance activities, including sales tax, property tax, and other required filings.
Maintain and enhance accounting policies, internal controls, and financial reporting processes.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies, strengthen controls, and streamline accounting operations.
Collaborate with senior finance leadership on strategic initiatives, special projects, and process improvements.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
Public accounting experience with a strong background in financial statement audits is required.
Prior accounting leadership experience within a complex, multi-site or multi-entity organization.
Extensive experience with general ledger management, financial reporting, consolidations, intercompany accounting, account reconciliations, and month-end close.
Proven experience coordinating external audits, preparing audit schedules, and supporting audit requests.
High proficiency with Workday is required.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and complex financial analysis.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and corporate financial reporting.
CPA designation and/or MBA strongly preferred.

Pay: $175,000.00 - $185,000.00 per year
