JOB SUMMARY
The Program Director is responsible for the leadership, overall operations, management, and success of the facility. Responsible for ensuring an atmosphere of effective, high quality customer service, and promoting a dignified and professional treatment environment for clients and staff.
DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for the oversight of all facility operations.
- Ensure policies and procedures are current with all regulatory requirements. Maintain exemplary performance with respect to contract specifications, and licensing and accreditation standards.
- Establishes and executes a strategic plan to promote program growth and respond to changes in the marketplace.
- Responsible for ongoing development and improvement of the program, including identifying and implementing best practices, evaluating program outcomes, and making recommendations for program enhancements or modifications based on data and feedback from staff and clients and implementing quality improvement initiatives.
- Works collaboratively with Clinical staff/ Lead Clinical staff in the development of clinical programming to ensure that evidence-based treatment protocols are followed, and that services are provided in a manner consistent with the program's mission and philosophy.
- Responsible for facilitating morning meetings, creating and organizing the agenda for weekly staff meetings, leadership meetings, quality Assurance meetings, and effectively running meetings to ensure smooth communication and coordination among staff. - Oversees the timely and accurate completion of all required program documentation, including client records, billing and reimbursement documentation, and program reports.
- Strictly adheres to HIPAA and confidentiality policies when responding to inquiries for client information or copies of information. Demonstrates the ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities and complete duties in the allotted time. Adhering to professional codes of conduct, and following relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
- Leads and participates in performance improvement initiatives by developing indicator reports for monthly leadership, safety, multi-disciplinary team meeting meetings.
- Communicates with Chief Executive Director timely and effectively
- Supervises other management staff. Providing support for their supervisees as needed.
- Capable of critical thinking, strong employee relations, and effective teamwork. ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
- Ensure all management personnel are thoroughly knowledgeable in all policies and procedures, licensing, contracts, and accreditation standards.
- Planning and budgeting of all facility services in conjunction with the CEO.
- Assisting in the development of written job descriptions for all staff, reviewing of credentials, participating in hiring of staff, and delineation and assignment of staff duties. Completes performance evaluations and assists with staff competencies.
- Leading and participating in staff orientation and staff education activities, when applicable.
- Positively promoting organizational culture to all staff, clients, and the community.
- Development, oversight, and management of relationships with all referral sources as needed, which include EAPs, Unions, trade organizations, etc.
- You would evaluate the effectiveness of the program through data collection and analysis and use this information to make data-driven decisions about program operations and improvements.
- Maintains adequate knowledge of the programs’ emergency preparedness plan and emergency procedures; and assists with crisis management and other emergencies as needed.
- Responsible for assisting with crisis situations alongside other staff that may arise in the program, such as client emergencies. Implementing appropriate interventions to ensure the safety and well-being of clients and staff.
- Maintains a highly interactive relationship with the organization support services, as well as external stakeholders,
- Responsible for the fiscal management of the programs, including management of revenue, expenses, and adhering to budgeted guidelines.
- Represents the program in professional meetings, conferences, and other forums to promote awareness of the program and its services.
- Works alongside CEO to manage vendor contracts.
- Maintain daily operations.
- Manages audits as needed (i.e. internal, accreditation, state)
OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITES

QUALIFICATIONS
The Program Director shall meet the following qualifications:
· High School Diploma required.
· Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s degree preferred in either social work, counseling, human services, business administration, or closely related field.
· Three years of management and/or supervisory experience in a mental health or substance use treatment environment required.
· Strong leadership background with demonstrated results managing organizations.
· Strong experience with for-profit substance use disorders (SUD)/ behavioral health treatment facilities including those primarily funded by commercial insurance products and/or cash pay preferred.
· Experience in a rapid changing/ start-up environments is preferred.
· Experience working with state licensing requirements and accreditation standards preferred.
· Demonstrates critical thinking, sound reasoning and judgement.
· Effective communication skills and processes.
· Fosters a healthy and positive team-approach with staff.
· Promotes a positive workplace culture to effectively recruit and retain high quality staff.
COMPETENCIES
· Leadership expertise: the Program Director must be able to provide effective leadership to the program. This includes setting the vision and direction of the program, developing and implementing effective strategies, and motivating and inspiring staff.
· Emergency and safety: understand and follow facility emergency and safety procedures, respond to emergencies in a safe and effective manner, provide first aid and CPR as needed, and maintain a safe and secure environment for clients and staff. The Program Director is also responsible for maintaining emergency plans, including utility management, safety, security, and other plans.
· Overdose prevention: all staff need to be able to recognize the signs and symptoms of an overdose and respond appropriately and need to be trained in the use of naloxone and other overdose reversal medications. (Training can be provided via the agency)
· Suicide risk and prevention: All staff need to be able to recognize the signs and symptoms of suicide risk and respond appropriately and need to be trained in suicide prevention strategies.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
· Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
