Full Job Description

An industrial manufacturing operation is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee equipment reliability and maintenance execution within a paper production environment. This role is responsible for ensuring the effective operation of production equipment and supporting overall plant performance.

The position requires hands on experience with paper machine systems and a strong understanding of maintenance practices in a continuous manufacturing setting. The successful candidate will lead maintenance activities, support production needs, and drive improvements in equipment performance and uptime.

Responsibilities:

Oversee maintenance activities for production equipment and plant systems
Support reliability and performance of machinery used in paper manufacturing
Implement and manage preventive and predictive maintenance activities
Lead and develop maintenance personnel
Coordinate maintenance work, including planned shutdowns and repairs
Utilize maintenance systems to track work and improve planning efficiency
Partner with operations to address equipment issues and support production targets
Manage maintenance related costs, materials, and external services
Ensure adherence to safety and regulatory requirements

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field preferred
5 to 10 years of maintenance leadership experience within a paper mill environment
Direct hands on experience with paper machine systems is required
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and reliability centered maintenance practices
Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance planning tools
Proven ability to lead teams in a fast paced industrial environment
Strong problem solving and decision making skills

Work Environment:

This role operates within a paper manufacturing facility and requires regular presence on the production floor
Exposure to industrial conditions including noise, heat, and varying temperatures
Requires the use of appropriate personal protective equipment
May require evening or weekend support based on operational needs
