About the Role

I am the owner of an established Bronx optical practice. The business has

been around for over a decade with strong fundamentals — accepts all major

vision plans, loyal patient base, modern equipment, solid local reputation.

Here is the honest truth: I have stepped back from the floor over the past

year to focus on other ventures, and the store has slowed down because

of it. Sales are down. Staff has gotten comfortable. Customer service has

slipped. Patients aren't being followed up with. We are not in crisis —

the bones are good — but the practice needs someone in here every day

running it like an owner.

That is the role.

I am not looking for a caretaker. I am looking for a builder.

What I Need You To Do

- Clean house. Reset the standards on the floor — appearance, presence,

patient interactions, follow-through.

- Hold staff accountable. Have the hard conversations I have not been

having. Coach the ones who can grow. Replace the ones who can't.

- Drive sales. Frame-only walkouts stop. Lens upgrades go up. Second-pair

conversions go up. Patient rebook rates go up.

- Bring patients back. Run reactivation outreach. Own the rebook calendar. Don't wait for walk-ins.

- Run operations. Insurance verification, authorizations, billing

oversight, inventory, vendor orders, lab workflow.

- Bring ideas. I want a manager who tells me what we should be doing —

not one who waits for me to figure it out.

Compensation & Upside

- Competitive base salary (range posted on this listing)

- Performance bonus tied to clear monthly KPIs — sales, capture rate,

rebook rate. Real upside if you do the job.

- Paid vacation and sick time

- Full operational authority — I will get out of your way when you show

me you can run it

This is genuine upside for the right person. The ceiling is high because

the floor work is real.

Required Experience

- Minimum 3 years of optical industry experience (frames, lenses,

prescriptions, vision insurance)

- Bilingual English / Spanish — required. A large portion of our patient

base is Spanish-speaking.

- Demonstrable sales track record in optical

- Prior supervisory or management experience strongly preferred

- Solid working knowledge of VSP, EyeMed, Davis, Spectera and other major

vision plans

- Comfortable with computers — EHR, POS, basic spreadsheets

- Licensed optician is a plus but not required if you bring strong sales

and leadership
