Full Time

Purpose / Summary:

The role of the Maritime Licensing Consultant is for providing effective customer service for all internal and external customers by utilizing excellent, in-depth knowledge of maritime industry requirements for marine licensing customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Answers internal and external customer questions regarding maritime licensing.
Processes domestic and international maritime licensing applications.
Gathers necessary information from customers/clients to process applications.
Weekly communicates status of licensing applications with individual mariners and/or corporate contacts.
Act as the filing agent for USCG and other flagship states, such as Marshall Islands.
Maintain worksheets and other reports daily.
Communicate verbally and in writing in a professional manner.
Provide supporting documentation to the invoicing department for billing purposes on a monthly basis.
Travel to various locations within the local area, as needed, to pick-up documents, expedite processessing or to deliver licenses.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED; 2 or more years administrative work preferably in the Marine industry or related experience and/or training.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Office Suite products.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
