Supervises: Admissions Representatives and Admissions Support Staff as assigned

Position Summary
The Director of Admissions is responsible for the leadership, management, and overall performance of the Admissions Department. This individual serves as a coach, mentor, and leader who effectively staff, supervises, trains, and develops a goal-oriented admissions team focused on providing exceptional prospective student experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Development

Effectively staff, supervise, train, manage, and lead the Admissions team.
Instill a sense of team responsibility and maintain a positive work environment.
Develop and implement training materials for admissions staff.
Ensure Admissions Representatives possess the knowledge necessary to accurately represent institutional programs, policies, and services.
Plan and facilitate regular admissions meetings and training sessions.
Establish departmental goals and performance expectations.
Manage the day-to-day performance of admissions personnel to ensure goals and expectations are achieved.
Analyze departmental reports and statistics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Provide coaching, mentoring, and direction to team members as indicated by individual performance.
Conduct annual performance evaluations and additional evaluations as necessary.
Conduct regular observations of calls, interviews, and other admissions activities and document findings.
Ensure the department remains appropriately staffed to support enrollment goals and service expectations.

Admissions Operations and Compliance

Continually improve student start rates by managing and monitoring the admissions process and prospective student experience.
Conduct prospective student interviews and perform Admissions Representative responsibilities as needed.
Conduct periodic audits of admissions files and the admissions database to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
Ensure all required admissions documentation is properly collected, maintained, and documented in accordance with institutional policies and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with the Director of Education & Regulatory Affairs to conduct annual compliance and accreditation training.
Ensure adherence to ethical recruitment practices and all applicable accrediting and regulatory standards.
Maintain familiarity with institutional policies, admissions procedures, and applicable regulations.

Collaboration and Student Success

Communicate regularly with faculty and academic leadership to ensure admissions staff maintain current and accurate program information.
Maintain a positive relationship with the Financial Aid Department and an understanding of the financial aid process.
Collaborate with Student Services to organize and facilitate admissions events and transition activities for incoming students.
Participate in orientation programs, graduation ceremonies, and other institutional activities as assigned.
Support institutional goals related to enrollment, retention, professionalism, and student success.

Qualifications

Associate degree required; bachelor's degree preferred.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in postsecondary admissions or enrollment management required.
Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory or admissions leadership experience preferred.
Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and team development abilities.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated commitment to customer service and continuous improvement.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and student information systems.
Commitment to maintaining the highest ethical standards in student recruitment and admissions practices.
Familiarity with accrediting agency standards and applicable federal and state regulations related to admissions preferred.
Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed to support institutional events and activities.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use standard office equipment for extended periods of time.
Ability to communicate effectively in person, electronically, and by telephone.
Ability to occasionally lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
Ability to travel between campus locations and attend external events as necessary.
