Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing core accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and supporting financial reporting processes. You will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records, performing account reconciliations, and assisting with audits and internal controls. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your expertise in corporate accounting within a collaborative and growth-focused environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and analyze journal entries, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards such as GAAP and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance.
Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and review of general ledger transactions to maintain precise financial data.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using various financial software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar systems.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including financial statement preparation and variance analysis.
Support payroll management tasks utilizing systems like ADP, UltiPro, Kronos, or Paychex; ensure timely processing of payroll data.
Maintain accurate records of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other key financial transactions through meticulous data entry and bookkeeping.
Contribute to internal audits by providing documentation related to account reconciliation, journal entries, and financial system controls such as SOX compliance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting, tax preparation, and financial analysis projects to support strategic decision-making.

Experience

Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a solid understanding of accounting principles such as GAAP and governmental accounting standards.
Hands-on experience working with multiple accounting software platforms including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar systems.
Familiarity with payroll systems like ADP or UltiPro and experience managing accounts payable/receivable processes.
Strong numeracy skills with the ability to perform detailed data analysis using Excel and other financial tools.
Knowledge of technical accounting concepts including journal entries, double entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and balance sheet management.
Prior experience in public accounting or non-profit organizations is a plus but not required.
Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills; ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining accuracy in fast-paced environments.
