Main Purpose of the job:
Production Manager plays a key role in ensuring smooth and efficient daily operations. This position involves overseeing various aspects of production support, including coordination between factories, managing resources, and ensuring that processes align with operational goals and will focus on optimizing operational processes in waste reduction, environmental and safety compliance, both physical and record keeping.
Job Description:
Role and Activity
Factory Support:
- Provide operational support to all factories, ensuring that resources are available to meet production schedules.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues that impact production efficiency and quality.
- Collaborate with the production and maintenance teams to ensure minimal downtime
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, enhance productivity, and reduce operational costs.
- Assist in the development and implementation of lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement programs.
Resource Management:
- Coordinate the supply of materials, equipment, and labor to ensure optimal production flow.
- Ensure the timely availability of resources, including spare parts and supplies.
Inventory Management:
- Work closely with inventory and logistics teams to monitor stock levels and avoid production delays due to shortages or excess inventory.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of materials to prevent damage or loss.
Team Leadership and Coordination:
- Support and manage operational staff to maintain high levels of performance.
- Foster collaboration between departments (e.g., production, quality control, logistics) to meet operational goals.

Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards across all factories.
- Promote a safe working environment by implementing safety protocols and providing regular safety training.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and other operational metrics to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare regular reports on production performance, operational issues, and improvement initiatives for senior management.
Budgeting and Cost Control:
- Assist in budgeting for operational activities, ensuring that resources are used efficiently
- Identify cost-saving opportunities in manufacturing processes without compromising quality or safety.
- Manage and report waste reduction for all factories

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
In this position, the employee will regularly work with and around others; in a wet and/or humid environment; in areas of high noise level; and around mechanical, electrical, and pressurized equipment. The work is fast paced.
The position involves frequent exposure to nuts and other potential allergens.
The pay scale for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The pay range for prospective employees in this role is between $120,000 and $130,000 per year with opportunities for overtime, shift differential, cold premium pay and annual bonuses (variable depending on company performance).
