Full Job Description

The Center for Global Health and Development (CGHD) is seeking a Research and Administrative Assistant to help develop policy strategy, government and multilateral engagement, and the research foundation underpinning our blended finance and global health initiatives. This is an opportunity for an experienced policy professional to shape CGHD's positioning at the intersection of global health, development finance, and international diplomacy.

The role is an onsite role, with regular engagement across time zones and frequent travel to workshops, roundtables, and government convenings.

About CGHD

CGHD is a global platform that brings together leaders from G7 governments, UN agencies, development finance institutions, philanthropies, and the private sector to advance global health and economic development.

CGHD scales impactful initiatives through blended finance, innovative health financing, and cross-sector partnerships. Its work spans health manufacturing, energy reliability for health facilities, SME development, supply chains, and disease elimination efforts in the Indo-Pacific and beyond.

CGHD develops strategy, provides technical assistance, mobilizes financing, and coordinates multi-stakeholder engagement across Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the United States.

This is a unique opportunity to help lead the policy function of a growing platform at the center of high-level global health financing.

Position Overview

The Research and Administrative Assistant will support CGHD's research, due diligence, and day-to-day administrative operations across our portfolio of blended finance vehicles. This is an entry-level, on-site role suited to someone early in their career who wants hands-on exposure to global health financing, research support, and organizational operations.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn, with strong writing and research skills and the ability to manage multiple small tasks accurately under deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

Support due diligence processes for prospective investments and partnerships by compiling background research, organizing source materials, and drafting initial summaries.
Assist in preparing policy briefs, concept notes, and background research materials under the direction of senior staff.
Help prepare investment memoranda, presentation decks, and grant or RFP application materials, including formatting, proofreading, and data entry.
Provide day-to-day administrative support, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, organizing files, and maintaining internal trackers and databases.
Take notes and prepare summaries for internal meetings, workshops, and convenings.
Coordinate logistics for meetings, workshops, and events, including scheduling, materials preparation, and follow-up.
Maintain and update contact lists, partner records, and other institutional documentation.
Conduct basic research on funding landscapes, potential partners, and capital sources as directed.
Provide general administrative support to CGHD leadership and team members as needed.

Essential Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in economics, public policy, international affairs, finance, or a related field; relevant coursework or internship experience preferred but not required.
Strong research, writing, and organizational skills, with close attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint) and Google Suite.

Preferred / Additional Assets

Familiarity with or interest in blended finance concepts (first-loss capital, guarantees, concessional layering).
Prior internship or coursework related to global health, international development, or finance.
Interest in emerging-market health systems or health manufacturing.
Additional languages (French, Spanish, Portuguese) a plus given the organization's work across Africa, Latin America, and the Indo-Pacific.

Language Requirements

English required; additional languages (French, Spanish, Portuguese) a plus.

Location

On-site. This role requires regular in-office presence to support day-to-day team operations.
