Job Summary

Join our compassionate team as a Part Time Funeral Assistant, where you will play a vital role in supporting families during their most difficult moments. This energetic position involves assisting with funeral and mortuary services, ensuring respectful handling of remains, and providing exceptional customer service. You will be an essential part of coordinating funeral events, managing records, and offering bereavement support to families. If you are organized, empathetic, and eager to make a meaningful difference, this role offers a rewarding opportunity to serve with dignity and professionalism.

Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation and transportation of deceased individuals in accordance with safe lifting practices and manual handling protocols
Support funeral directors in coordinating funeral services and related events, ensuring smooth operations from start to finish
Provide compassionate bereavement support and guidance to grieving families, demonstrating sensitivity and understanding throughout the process
Conduct heavy lifting tasks safely while adhering to organizational safety standards
Drive company vehicles for transportation of remains or equipment as needed, maintaining proper licensing and driving records
Offer exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with families, visitors, and team members during all stages of the funeral process

Skills

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Excellent client communication skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism in sensitive situations
Experience in funeral & mortuary services or related fields such as event planning or sales is preferred
Knowledge of safe lifting practices and manual handling techniques to prevent injury during heavy lifting tasks
Ability to work on-call or flexible hours to accommodate funeral schedules and emergencies
Working knowledge of bereavement support principles and customer service excellence
