Job Description
Leads the Maintenance Technician’s in daily tasks as set forth by the Maintenance Coordinator or Management Team. Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems. Performs preventive maintenance to ensure optimum equipment operations. coordinates activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of equipment; ensures quality of product and efficiency of the process through technical support of the various processes and systems. Position functions include, but are not limited to, those set forth below.
Essential Functions
- Troubleshoots machines and equipment to detect malfunctions; discusses machine operating abilities with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair equipment.
- Dismantles defective machines or equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
- Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical or electronic components.
- Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
- Lay out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
- Repairs and maintains physical structure and appearance of facility.
- Capable of reading and troubleshooting PLC ladder logic and make simple edits to program.
- Installs, programs, or repairs automated machinery and equipment, such as robots or programmable controllers.
- Sets up and operates machine tools, such as lathe, grinder, drill, etc. to fabricate machine parts and repair equipment.
- Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join parts.
- Fabricates and repairs counters, platforms, working surfaces, partitions and other structures.
- Supervises and directs the work of the Maintenance Technicians; includes training, performance management and follow-up work.
- Coordinate the repair/installation of equipment to ensure optimum utilization of equipment and manpower
- Evaluate processes and downtime to determine appropriate course of action
- Provide technical support to Production departments for training purposes and during production.
- Guarantee quality of product through machine or programming adjustments/modifications after change points or during new model start-ups.
- Supports other Maintenance TL with any parts ordering or logging/storage needs.
- May gather data for Maintenance Business Plan, Budget, and Management Review.
- May coordinate Cost-down activities.
- Must guarantee that daily reporting is completed by Technicians on his/her shift as required.
- Other tasks as required by Management
- Leads shift pass down meetings jointly with oncoming/outgoing TL

- Ability to speak effectively before small groups of people, including customers, vendors, managers, and associates.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Power Point) and computerized equipment.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Position supervises the 2nd or 3rd Shift Maintenance Technicians, and directs work as needed to Technicians on the other shifts (in the absence of a TL on an adjoining shift). Suggests or recommends decisions which affect the employment of Associates; includes interviewing, hiring, promoting, and termination activities. May be required to provide Supervisory support to other departments as determined by the needs of the business.

Education and/or Experience
- Special Training in Maintenance and/or Robotics preferred.

Work Environment
The work environment characteristics here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of the job.
- Must be able to work overtime on short notice which includes Holidays and weekends.
- Must hold and maintain current driver's license.
- Must be able to travel to other Motherson Yachiyo American Region facilities.
- Represent Motherson Yachiyo’s best interest in matters of Maintenance and Equipment Operational Effectiveness.
- The performance of this position requires frequent exposure to the manufacturing areas that may require the use of personal protective equipment such as ear, eye, head and foot.
- Primary environment: cold or warm temperatures according to outside weather conditions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.14 - $35.94 per hour
